2D  Media (watercolour, sumi-e ink, acrylics, photography)

Living on the mountain, wildlife is a wonder and a great source of inspiration. Cats are another fascination, but our cats are all kept indoors where the wildlife is safe from them, and they are safe from wildlife! This prompted the series “Window Cats” where all the cats are inside by their window on the world.  A favourite technique is that of sumi-e, using the minimum of lines to convey the subject. Just as a bow stroke on cello strings makes its sound, every brush stroke has only one chance and cannot be altered or undone. Painting, photography and music are about being in the moment.
