Photography
Karen is a vet with a passion for photography, writing, and the natural world.
Taking inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of nature, Karen is particularly intrigued by details, texture and movement, which she explores with macro and abstract photography. Karen also works part-time as a freelance gig and socials photographer, and reviewer, covering classical concerts, and festivals such as Woodford, Bluesfest, and Splendour.
Karen photographs have appeared in The Australian newspaper, Musica Viva literature and website, Scenestr magazine and website, Limelight Magazine, ClassikON, and Indulge magazine, and on the cover of Your Time magazine. Karen has won a number of awards for her photography, including first place in the Nobivac Human-Animal Bond competition in 2013, first place in the Henry Schein-Provet competition in 2015, and Reserve Champion trophy in photography at the Samford show in 2015. Karen was also was a finalist in the World Parks Congress ‘Saved’ photography competition, held in Sydney to coincide with that international event in 2014.
